My life was a dumpster fire, so I turned to witchcraft.
Be a Revolutionary! Let Rev. Dr. Angela Yarber inspire you with the myth of Lilith and her own story to climb the walls of society’s prisons toward personal freedom!
Though no longer practicing, Angela is an ordained, queer clergywoman who pastored churches for 14 years. She also holds a Ph.D. in Art and Religion and is an award-winning author of seven books, including four listed in the Top LGBTQ Religion Books.
She has devoted herself to The Holy Women Icons Project. A project that started with a question. “Where are all the women?” After traveling around the world, Rev. Dr. Angela Yarber, founder and executive direction of the intersectional ecofeminist non-profit organization, realized there was a glaring omission on the walls of Orthodox churches and other religious traditions — The faces of women.
Confronted with this gap in representation, Angela began painting revolutionary women from history and mythology. Her folk-art style focuses on the “cry of her heart” to capture the essence of these powerful women. At the Tehom Center in Hawaii, her mission is to empower marginalized women by teaching about revolutionary women through art, writing, retreats, and courses. In this episode of Lifemancy, she brings the Tehom Center to you and shares how to use the stories of revolutionary women to support taking action in your own life.
